I went to a woodworking show at the Expo ctr and they routed us thru where these people were coming out of the event. I probly passed you at some point. One guy was in the middle of the road where there was a big puddle, splashing water up onto his bike in an effort to get some of the mud off. I see that many of them have two sets of brake levers. How come? Is that unique to cyclocross?

Ah, yeah, we were just a few hundred feet away!
Not sure about the levers – I think it just gives you another position in which to brake effectively, which I think is important with the crazy cyclocross courses. And often they’ll put the back brake on the left so when they’re dismounting at 20mph and hanging off the left side of the bike they can brake with only their left hand on the bars.
