Here’s another of my “assignment” nights where I head out for an hour to see what I find. This time I set up shop along a straight, unlit (and foggy!) stretch of the SR14 just before Camas.
Happy February to you.

Yesterday we celebrated my mom’s birthday (happy birthday!) at my grandma’s. That’s my grandma in the first picture, not my mom. She ran the Timber post office for 20+ years. I have distant, fond memories of her taking me (armed with lunch) with her to work, and all the fun we’d have at that magical little post office perched on the hillside in the trees. All the friendly, colorful visitors, the giant ball of string (like 16″ diameter!), Jim the one-legged mail carrier (all deliveries were by car), and raising and lowering the flag every day.

The second was taken on a commute home in 2004 when home was Cologne, Germany.
Also here’s a Danish photographer who took some amazing photos on a bridge in Berlin. Super-awesome.

Listening to the Peter, Bjorn & John album Writer’s Block reminds me of warm, summer Boise. This prompted me to look back through the archives for some warm, summer Boise photos, and here are a few. On this evening, our North End neighbor (who happened to know some fire-dancer types) threw a spectacular party.

Guess who suddenly can’t stop thinking about bikes?

Don’t expect too many sunrise photos to appear on this blog…
Btw, fwiw, fyi, these were not photoshopped.
